Patrick Looney, a member of our church, died tragically yesterday. Patrick (and his wife Karen) have been very faithful in serving preschool children on Sunday mornings. Not only has our son greatly benefited from his ministry, but we as a family have regularly felt . . . or shall I say . . . heard his influence.
For weeks now, Timothy has made an ongoing habit of bursting into song.
"The B-I-B-L-E" . . . "This Is The Way We Go To Church" . . . the hits just keep on coming. And coming. And coming. And coming.
Singing. In the car. In the bath tub. At the dinner table. At bedtime. After bedtime. In time out. Many times we have attempted to locate an off switch, but to no avail!
This past Sunday, being out of town, we had a make-shift family worship time. We naturally deemed Timothy our "worship leader" as he led us in a medley of songs!
I was deeply humbled today to discover Patrick is the one who has been teaching our son these songs. He has not only impressed wonderful truths into our son's heart and mind, but he has indirectly and frequently pointed us as a family to Christ through the songs voiced by our son.
Thank you, Father, for your ministry through your son Patrick. We mourn deeply with Patrick's wife and daughters, and we rest fully in the grace of Christ.
Here is Timothy singing one of his greatest hits . . . (email subscribers will need to go to www.timothymyson.com to view this video).
